During a recent Ministers' Conference, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, issued a stern warning to Christians who continue to live in sin despite their attendance in church.
Referring to Isaiah 59:2, he emphasized that persistent sin separates individuals from God. "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear," Kumuyi quoted.
Pastor Kumuyi underscored the importance of living a righteous life, pointing out that those who habitually sin-whether by engaging in sinful behaviors or returning to their old ways immediately after worship-are living in separation from God.
He said, "We need to understand that if we come to church and then during the week or even after leaving church on the same worship day, we go back to sin-we're separated from God. We have not seen God."
He likened sin to a dangerous practice that not only distances believers from their Creator but also prevents them from truly experiencing God's presence.
The renowned preacher explained that such individuals may carry out religious duties and participate in ministry work, but if they remain unrepentant in their actions, they cannot truly claim to be walking with God.
He stressed that no matter how high one holds their position or how much work they do in church, habitual sin is a barrier that prevents God's blessings and grace from reaching them.
"Your iniquities, your sins, your transgressions have separated you from God," Pastor Kumuyi stated. He urged believers to examine their lives and understand that sin is not just a weakness but a disconnection from the divine.
He reminded attendees that God desires purity and holiness from His followers, not just outward religious observance. Pastor Kumuyi concluded by stressing that those who persist in sin cannot claim to truly know or be united with God.
