Pastor David Ibiyeomie, founder and senior pastor of Salvation Ministries International, challenged the common belief that God is in control of earthly affairs during his powerful message at COZA's 12 Days of Glory Program.
According to Ibiyeomie, God has delegated authority to mankind, granting humans the power to govern the earth and its creation.
Referring to Psalm 8:6, which says, he emphasized that this dominion extends over everything on earth. He boldly declared, "Everything is under your control."
The cleric then countered the widespread notion that "God is in control," asserting that humans are the ones who determine the course of events on earth, not God.
He said, "God is not in control here; we are in control. God has given authority to you and me. That's why we miss it, saying, "Oh, God is in control." No, you are in absolute control of this place."
He quoted Matthew 18:18, "Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven," to underline the point that heaven responds to what people on earth say and do.
According to the pastor, it is believers who hold the power to shape earthly and heavenly outcomes through their declarations and actions.
Ibiyeomie also explained that Adam, the first man, lost his dominion through sin, but Christ's redemptive work restored that authority to believers. As heirs to this power, Christians are meant to exercise dominion over every aspect of their lives, including finances, career, academics, and more.
Referring to Deuteronomy 28:13, which states, "Thou shalt be above only," he encouraged believers to reject mediocrity and strive for excellence in all things.
Ibiyeomie then urged his audience to take charge of their lives, saying, "You are in absolute control of this place. Here!"
