According to sky sport News, Arsenal have received a significant injury boost with winger Reiss Nelson returning to full first-team training. The club's attacking options have been heavily impacted by injuries to key players Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, leaving them in a tough spot as the season progresses. These setbacks have raised questions about Arsenal's recent transfer decisions, particularly the loan move of Nelson to Fulham and the temporary signing of Raheem Sterling.
With Arsenal currently six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool and still competing in multiple tournaments, including the UEFA Champions League and Carabao Cup, they are looking to make important changes in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, the January window presents an urgent opportunity to address their attacking needs.
Saka's hamstring injury, which will keep him out until at least March, has been a major blow to the team's attack. Additionally, the summer departures of Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, and Nelson have further strained their options. While Nketiah and Smith Rowe were sold, Nelson was loaned to Fulham, where he impressed with two goals in 13 appearances before suffering a hamstring injury in December. Fulham manager Marco Silva had previously expressed concern over Nelson's recovery.
Nelson, however, appears to be nearing full fitness, as shown in a recent Instagram post of him training alongside former Arsenal player Alex Iwobi and Fulham defender Calvin Bassey. Although his loan move was initially seen as a step toward a permanent departure, Arsenal may consider recalling him in January if they fail to sign a new winger. With limited options on the flanks, the club is reportedly looking into potential reinforcements to strengthen their attack and maintain their competitiveness across all competitions.
