Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is nearing his second 'here we go' call of Chelsea's January transfer window. The club has been slow to make moves this window, with numerous rumors swirling around potential targets like Alejandro Garnacho, but there has been little actual progress.
Previously, Romano reported Chelsea's first confirmed deal of the window, but now, updates from him suggest that the second deal may be close to completion.
Cesare Casadei to Lazio?
Romano has revealed that Serie A club Lazio is confident about securing a deal to sign Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei. He shared on X last night:
"Lazio remains optimistic about finalizing the Casadei deal after submitting a bid two days ago: €12 million plus 20% sell-on fee. Negotiations are in the final stages, with Lazio's director Fabiani playing a key role. Fabiani's strong relationship with Chelsea could be crucial in closing the deal."
This marks the closest we've seen to Casadei leaving Chelsea after weeks of rumors and negotiations. We'll have to wait and see if Torino, who were also linked with the player, make a late move to hijack the deal.
