At the Glory Reign 2025 event, which was called "A New Dawn," Pastor David Ibiyeomie, who is the founder and senior pastor of Salvation Ministries International, imparted deep insight to his audience.
He emphasised the need of selecting the appropriate organisation for personal development and success in his speech.
Pastor Ibiyeomie, throughout his sermon, stressed the biblical notion of "iron sharpeneth iron." He encouraged Christians to spend time with those who are more advanced than they are in life. He stated, "It's better to be friends with someone who is ahead of you."
He went on to emphasise the need of being careful while choosing mates, saying, "Never befriend someone who is below you; they will criticise you and tear you down." The preacher urged the people who were there to assist those who are less fortunate than they are, but he warned them not to get too close with those people.
Pastor Ibiyeomie emphasised the need of having well defined connections by using Jesus' example. He made the observation that Jesus had a small group of three close followers-Peter, James, and John-who were followed by other people and subsequently by the multitude.
He remarked, "Your friend ought to be someone who has the same values as you." The pastor made a comparison between the good decision of a buddy and the lone flight of an eagle, saying, "Eagles don't fly with other birds."
He also recommended that you avoid mingling with those who are narrow-minded, and he cautioned against engaging in unpleasant conversations such as gossip or useless debates. "Why would you want to spend time with people who only talk about someone dying or the burial on Friday?" He warned, "Be careful when choosing the people you surround yourself with."
In concluding, Pastor Ibiyeomie reminded the audience that the people they choose to associate with affect the trajectory of their life. "Who you follow determines what follows you," he added, stressing the importance for intelligent, healthy relationships.
