The Manchester United forward line needs an injection of quality, with neither Rasmus Hojlund nor Joshua Zirkzee establishing themselves to be elite.
Ruben Amorim's frustrations have been clear to see, left baffled by the lack of danger inflicted by his two strikers who cost a combined £100m.
Amorim highlighted wanted another forward during Christmas, but to date Manchester United have been unable to give him his desires.
United have only scored 27 goals this season and boasts a minus-five goal difference, with Amad Diallo firing himself into the United top scorer position.
This could change, should United come into a previously unseen source of cash - which selling Alejandro Garnacho to Napoli for £60m would do for the Red Devils. Now a shortlist of replacement options has been drawn up.
Manchester United considering shortlist of forwards
If Garnacho is sold - and additionally Marcus Rashford gets his dream move to Barcelona - then replacements will be needed to avoid leaving Amorim short and ill-equipped to coach this team.
Now, the Daily Mail has revealed a shortlist of four players United are considering as options to reinforce the forward three positions in Amorim's side.
Interestingly the list consists of very different players, with one name being Ipswich's number nine Liam Delap - who is a former Manchester City youth prospect.
Then versatile forward Jonathan David has been named - a player who could be available for free this summer.
Finally, two Premier League-proven options, with Bryan Mbeumo and the 'special' Matheus Cunha are also being tracked.
Adding a forward, the report claims, is the plan for after United add Patrick Dorgu from Lecce. In hopes of solving the two weak points in one transfer window.
Ruben Amorim will be hoping for one name in particular
With some special names on the list, selling Garnacho looks like a move United - reluctantly - might be best served doing.
Garnacho doesn't fit Amorim's plans, so it makes logical sense to replace him with a player more befitting and Cunha could be just that.
Amorim has already seen Cunha live once in recent months. Wolves' Cunha destroyed United, with the defenders unable to stop him - passing his audition with flying colours.
The Brazilian has a new contract on the table at Molineux, however was slammed by his manager Vitor Pereira this week, speaking with Sky Sports.
"I don't like his body language", Pereira stated. Before adding a warning, "This is something that cannot happen... again."
Cunha slots perfectly into Amorim's system as a left-sided No.10 - and could be a real game changer.
