Nyesom Wike: If he doesn't leave now, he will leave tomorrow or in the near future-Robinson Ewor

In a candid interview with Arise Tv, In an ongoing battle within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, the national party has directed the state executive committee to serve as a caretaker committee for the next three months. However, the situation took a dramatic turn when a faction led by Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, and prominent figures like Aaron Chukwuemeka, replaced the original list. This group removed certain members, including loyalists of Governor Sim Fubara, and established a new caretaker committee. Subsequently, they sought court approval for their actions.

Dr. Robinson Nname-Ewor, the Acting Chairman of the PDP in Rivers State, voiced his stance on the ongoing conflict. Speaking on the presence of police at the party's secretariat, Dr. Nname-Ewor emphasized that the police were only maintaining peace. He stated, "The police are merely maintaining peace and order. They are there to avoid any breakdown of law and order. They are safeguarding the place."

Addressing the situation further, Dr. Nname-Ewor accused the opposing faction of intending to "destroy" the party structure, adding, "Let the police continue to maintain peace. At the appropriate time, we will take over." He drew comparisons to previous power shifts within the party, referencing the removal of past leaders such as Chief G and Prince. "The court has removed Aaron, and Chuka Aaron will leave. If he doesn't leave now, he will leave tomorrow or in the near future. He is no longer a state executive of the party. We are the owners of the state," Dr. Nname-Ewor declared.

The party leader further likened the situation to a biblical story, explaining the faction's claims to power. "It's just like the story in the Bible, the two women that lay claim to a child. King Solomon presided over the matter. The rightful owner of the child said, 'Please, allow the child to leave.' The other one said, 'No.' So we are the owners of the state, and we cannot cause trouble in the state. They are prepared to cause trouble, but we will restrain them," he asserted.

As tensions continue to rise, the future of the PDP leadership in Rivers State remains uncertain, with legal and political maneuvers shaping the unfolding crisis.
