Bayern Munich and Chelsea have held initial talks about the possibility of a swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku and Mathys Tel.
This was revealed by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a tweet via his X account on Monday night.
According to Romano, Bayern want Nkunku, while Chelsea want Tel amid the ongoing January transfer window.
"More on Mathys Tel and Chelsea story," Romano tweeted.
"Bayern and Chelsea held initial talks about possible swap deal, with players being discussed.
"Bayern asked for Christopher Nkunku situation at Chelsea, as BILD reported.
"Nothing advanced/close yet but initial talks took place."
Both Nkunku and Tel are not regular starters for their respective clubs sides under managers Enzo Maresca and Vincent Kompany.
A switch could help revive the careers of both players in the second half of this season.
