Marcus Rashford's agent to hold face-to-face Man United transfer talks with European club in 'next few days'

The January transfer window could see Manchester United sanction more than one high-profile player sale.

The Red Devils are set for a busy and important mid-season window with the club willing to listen to offers for nearly every player.

Despite their homegrown status, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are also available for transfer. Manchester United's owners are open to offers for the young duo.

And while Ruben Amorim would like to sign Nuno Mendes from Paris Saint-Germain, United must offload before they can buy due to the Premier League's rules on Profit and Sustainability, and that could open the door for one megastar to move on.

Marcus Rashford's agent set for transfer talks with Borussia Dortmund

According to Fabrizio Romano, Rashford's agent, and brother Dwaine Maynard, is currently in Italy and preparing for face-to-face talks with AC Milan.

Although AC Milan would like to sign Rashford due to his wide-attacking abilities, the Rossoneri will face strong competition from Borussia Dortmund.

From Italy, Rashford's camp will fly to meet Dortmund chiefs and hold more talks over the 27-year-old's Old Trafford future.

There are three weeks left in the January transfer window so there is still plenty of time for Manchester United to reach an agreement over the potential transfer of Rashford.

Why Rashford wants to leave Manchester United

Despite being one of United's own after coming through their prestigious youth academy, Rashford, who was born in Manchester in 1997, obviously feels now is the right time to experience a change of scenery.

The 27-year-old has only ever known Manchester United and their Carrington training ground, and with his form declining in recent few seasons, along with falling outs with his managers, undertaking a new challenge elsewhere is probably exactly what the forward needs.

With over three years left on his contract, and assuming he leaves on loan this month, there is still a chance for him to perform and reignite his United career before the start of next season.
