AC Milan have reportedly made an official bid to Manchester United for Marcus Rashford, while the player's representatives have also travelled to hold talks with the Italian club's officials.
United fans were left surprised when Rashford revealed to journalist Henry Winter that he wanted to leave for a "new challenge". Despite being on the verge of leaving Ruben Amorim's side, the forward is a lifelong United supporter who grew up in the club's academy.
Rashford's form has stagnated this season once again as he has found the back of the net just seven times in 24 outings, suggesting that the strain of being United's poster boy is too much for him to bear.
The 27-year-old appears to be following the advice of many pundits who have stated in recent years that he must go in order to revive his career.
Italian side, AC Milan have emerged as a serious option for Rashford. According to Italian transfer expert, Gianluca Di Marzio as reported by Team Talk, Milan have initiated the bidding process by submitting a loan-to-buy proposition to United.
United have not yet responded. However, since Rashford's agents have reportedly traveled to Italy to speak with Milan officials, an agreement between all parties may soon be reached.
Borussia Dortmund and Juventus are competing with Milan to sign the 27-year-old. Rashford's camps are also likely to initiate talks with Juve and Dortmund in the coming days to assess which club will be best for the player to join.
