A Nigerian lady challenges her grandmother, saying, 'This is the western world,' after the grandmother rejects her outfit for exposing her body.
This is contained in a post making waves on a popular social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).
In the video, a woman believed to be the grandmother can be heard voicing her concerns.
She was reportedly instructing her granddaughter, who was wearing a short outfit, to change into something more appropriate.
In response to her grandmother's statement, the granddaughter told her that her outfit was fine because, as she put it, "This is the western world."
She said, "This is the western world. Should I dress like an old woman who wears buba and wrapper like you? This is housewear. This is the western world."
Despite this, the grandmother insisted that she change into something more appropriate, but the lady maintained her stance.
Her mother and brother also joined in to explain the situation to the elderly woman.
As the video made its way online, concerned individuals stormed the comment section to share their thoughts.
