How much Man Utd could earn from Casemiro sale - 'very talented' replacement will cost £37m

How much Man Utd could earn from Casemiro sale - 'very talented' replacement will cost £37m

Manchester United's midfield options could do with new blood injected, which could see one player axed.

Ruben Amorim has found his first-choice midfield pairing over the past week, with Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte pivotal in the brilliant 2-2 draw with Liverpool.

Ugarte was spectacular for Manchester United, with his aggression and defensive ability playing a big role in the win - while Mainoo somehow might have had an even better game.

However, this is in contrast to the previous game in which a midfield pairing of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen was run ragged by Newcastle. This proves Amorim needs midfield reinforcements at Manchester United.

In particular, United clearly need a proper back-up for Ugarte, with Casemiro simply not up to the task right now. But in order to fund this, United first need to sell the Brazilian.

Saudi Arabia values Casemiro at £25m

Selling Casemiro this month is something Fabrizio Romano has claimed is on the cards - a move which could save United a whopping £350,000-a-week.

It is also a move which could prove lucrative for United, with Saudi Arabia appearing to be the likeliest move for Casemiro.

Now, according to Ben Jacobs, the Saudi dealmakers who conduct the transfer business for several of the PIF-owned clubs in the Pro League.

It is thought that United would sell Casemiro for around €30m or £25m, which represents a huge loss on the €70m (£58m) which was spent on the Brazilian back in 2022.

Last summer, Saudi sides were also keen on Casemiro. However, the issue was that he was against an exit - but is now thought to be open to the idea.

One club seeking to bring Casemiro to Saudi is Al Nassr - where Cristiano Ronaldo is keen on the signing.

If United receive £25m, it would pay off a big chunk of one possible replacement.

Manchester United should sign Dario Essugo

If United sell Casemiro this month, it would almost certainly lead to a replacement being signed.

United have been linked with multiple midfield additions - however, one we would like to see is Sporting Lisbon's Dario Essugo - who is also desired by Chelsea.

Amorim praised Essugo as being 'very talented', while over the past few weeks, United have been linked with the 19-year-old Essugo.

Essugo is an all-rounder in midfield, boasting impressive defensive statistics - ranking in the 99th percentile for interceptions and 80th for tackles in Europe's top five leagues while on loan with Las Palmas.

With a £37m release clause, Essugo would be a hefty purchase - however when considering the wages United would get off the books and also the transfer fee - it would pale in comparison.
