According to a report from Symfoni TV on Tuesday, January 7, David Briggs, the chairman of the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board, has shed light on a controversial incident involving former governor Peter Odili and the current Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, Nyesom Wike. In a recent statement, Briggs recounted how Odili allegedly provided Wike with N100 million during a meeting at the old government house's swimming pool.
Briggs detailed that this financial gesture was intended to help resolve a political feud between former governors Rotimi Amaechi and Celestine Omehia. According to Briggs, Wike had previously claimed that over N60 million had already been spent in efforts to mediate the conflict. However, instead of returning this amount, Odili chose to give Wike the larger sum of N100 million.
The chairman emphasized that rather than using the funds to address the ongoing issues, Wike reportedly took the money and vanished.
