Man Utd prepare to offer £16.6m plus player to sign star - Report

Osimhen Galatasaray

Manchester United showed some promising signs against Liverpool last night in an important Premier League game that ended in a 2-2 draw.

Amorim must have been happy with the performance as he became the first manager since Jose Mourinho in 2018 to get a goal at Anfield.

It has been almost 2 months since the Portuguese tactician took over at Old Trafford and the results have been middling at best so far but last night could prove to be a turning point.

There are a number of players in the current Man United squad that can consider themselves lucky if they stay at the club beyond this January.

There are also other players like Marcus Rashford, who do not seem to have the confidence of the coach.

We covered a story recently, revealing that Man Utd were prepared to negotiate a swap deal with Napoli, which would see Marcus Rashford move to Italy and Victor Osimhen take his place in England.

Now, Spanish source, Nacional, report that Man United are willing to offer Marcus Rashford plus £16.6 million to Napoli to try and sign the talented African striker.

It is worth noting that Osimhen is out of favor at the Italian club and is currently in Turkey playing on loan for Galatasaray.

One of Manchester United's biggest issues this season has been the lack goals with both strikers in the squad failing to find the back of the net at a consistent rate. The Nigerian number nine can help solve this issue.

It remains to be seen if Napoli deem this offer acceptable. Only time will tell how it plays out.

Have your say - Should Man Utd offer Rashford plus £16.6m to sign Osimhen?
