Salah surpasses former Liverpool forward Suarez with record-breaking goal contribution

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has once again etched his name into the Premier League record books, surpassing a milestone previously held by Reds legend Luis Suarez.

Thanks to his goal in Liverpool's entertaining draw with Manchester United, Salah now boasts the most goal involvements in the first 19 appearances of a Premier League season.

According to OptaJoe, Salah has contributed an incredible 31 goals this term, consisting of 18 goals and 13 assists.

This tally surpasses Suarez's 30 goal involvements at the same stage in the 2013-14 season, when the Uruguayan recorded 23 goals and 7 assists during his scintillating campaign.

Chasing Premier League greatness

Suarez's record is not the only one Salah touched with his goal against Manchester United, as the Egyptian continues to climb the all-time Premier League scoring charts.

With 175 goals to his name, he currently ranks joint-seventh on the list along with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and now only behind Alan Shearer, Harry Kane, Wayne Rooney, Andy Cole, Sergio Aguero, and Frank Lampard.

With the forward hinting that this could be his final Premier League season at Liverpool, as an extension to his current contract appears unlikely, he will have his sights set on surpassing Andy Cole's tally of 187 Premier League goals.

The Egyptian star needs just 12 more strikes to move into fourth place on the league's all-time scoring charts.
