Liverpool working on deal to sign perfect TAA replacement after talks opened

Liverpool is reportedly stepping up their chase to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong amid all the speculation that Trent Alexander-Arnold is heading towards the exit signs at Anfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been in the media a lot over the past few months as there is a lot of speculation in the media that he is one player that could leave the club at the end of the season after failing to agree a new contract at Anfield.

The England international is of huge interest to the Spanish giants with one proposal, believed to be in the region of £20million, submitted and rejected earlier this week. With his future in limbo, Alexander-Arnold seems to be holding the cards and has thus made what he wants perfectly clear.

Liverpool don't want the star to leave and have been working on trying to get him signed up to a new contract, but it now seems that they are also preparing for life at Alexander-Arnold as they have made moves to sign Frimpong from Leverkusen.

Frimpong has been one of the most outstanding players for Leverkusen over the past few seasons, and it has been claimed by BILD that Liverpool have held talks with the Germans about a potential deal.

Frimpong extended his contract with Bayer Leverkusen six months later until the summer of 2028, so Liverpool will have to match that release clause if they wish to get a deal done for the Bundesliga star.

Frimpong has proven himself over the past few seasons and has impressed at Leverkusen, so it is easy to see why the Reds wants the player.

If he gets signed, he will be a welcome addition to that LIVERPOOL side, it is that simple.
