According to Iran International English, a prominent Iranian hardline cleric and also the Supreme Leader's representative in Khorasan Razavi province, Ahmad Alamolhoda said, "Foreign powers are actively recruiting members of Iran's parliament as spies. Foreign intelligence agencies do not directly send spies to the parliament. Instead, they identify lawmakers whose views align with their own and then recruit them through intermediaries. In the Islamic Consultative Assembly, people with different ideas and viewpoints enter. The enemy comes and evaluates these people to see which ones are close to their goals, and then recruits them through several intermediaries."
It was learned that the statement of Ahmad Alamolhoda contradicts the recent report of a Western media outlet accusing the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its affiliated groups of recruiting local criminals, including minors, to target good people of Jews and Israeli institutions, especially Israeli embassies across Europe. Following the accusations, the Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Esmaeil Baghaei, said that they have never had a proxy, and did not need a proxy.
