'Worst year of my life' - Nwabali heartbroken after losing mum to cold hands of death on January 1st

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has been hit with heartbreaking news on the first day of the new year.

The news comes following the death of his father, which happened in November last year during his participation for the Super Eagles in the AFCON qualifiers.

The Chippa United shot-stopper got the tragic news after the Super Eagles game against the Benin Republic.

Still mourning his dad's death, the Nigerian international has revealed today that he has also lost his mother to the cold hands of death.

Nwabali loses mother

Nwabali has started the new year with terrific news that has ripped through the heart of the goalkeeper.

The Super Eagles star revealed on his social media account that he has lost his mum to the cold hands of death.

The Chippa goalkeeper wrote on his official X account, "Rip mom, worst year of my life already 😢💔."

Nawabali, in his heartbroken state, claimed that the year 2025 is the worst year of his life already after starting with bad news.

He had just celebrated the start of a new year when he learnt of his mother's passing on January 1, 2025.

Meanwhile, Nwabali has been an important player for the Super Eagles since becoming the number-one goalkeeper for the team.
