Addressing journalists ahead of his party's weekly meeting at the Knesset, Gantz emphasized that resolving the ongoing threats requires focusing on Tehran.

"The solution to halting these attacks lies in Iran," Gantz asserted. He urged Israel to seize the current opportunity to initiate a "strategic shift" against Iran and its affiliates, warning that failing to act decisively would be a significant strategic misstep.

Highlighting the urgency of the hostage crisis, Gantz called for a broad agreement with Hamas to secure the release of all hostages held in Gaza, even if it requires a phased approach. He also criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for failing to replace Hamas's governance in Gaza, noting that despite military gains, Israel has yet to facilitate an alternative administration for the region.

"The State of Israel has not made a real decision to replace Hamas," Gantz said. He accused the current government of neglecting plans within the defense establishment for a new governing body in Gaza, which he described as essential for long-term stability. Gantz warned that even with such changes, Hamas would not vanish immediately, necessitating ongoing Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) operations in Gaza for the foreseeable future.

Turning to the topic of military enlistment, Gantz criticized the government's proposed ultra-Orthodox conscription bill, describing it as ineffective. He argued that if his mobilization plan for the Haredi community had been implemented, thousands of ultra-Orthodox soldiers would already be serving on the front lines. "The conscription outline they want to pass is like a car without an engine," he remarked, urging prominent Likud members Yuli Edelstein and Yoav Gallant to reject the bill.
