Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 3,542 operatives to ensure a smooth and secure Christmas and New Year celebration in the state.
The deployment, detailed in a statement by the Command's Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, involves officers from the 44 divisional offices and specialized units, including undercover operatives. The personnel will focus on safeguarding Christian worship centers, recreational facilities, and other strategic locations across Kano.
"This deployment covers various departments and units of the command to ensure that residents and visitors enjoy a hitch-free festive season," Abdullahi explained. He emphasized the command's commitment to maintaining peace and security throughout the holiday period.
The NSCDC operatives will also work closely with other security agencies to monitor potential flashpoints and prevent any attempts to disrupt public peace. Abdullahi encouraged residents to cooperate with security personnel by reporting any suspicious activities promptly.
The deployment aligns with the NSCDC's nationwide efforts to protect lives, property, and critical national infrastructure during the yuletide. The Command assured the public of its readiness to address any security challenges that may arise, urging citizens to celebrate responsibly and remain vigilant.
This proactive measure reflects the NSCDC's commitment to ensuring a safe and peaceful holiday season for all residents of Kano State.
