Prize Money Confirmed for Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle After Reaching Carabao Cup Semi-finals

Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle United have become the first teams to reach the Carabao Cup semi-finals this season.

Arsenal secured their spot with a 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace, thanks to a hat-trick from Gabriel Jesus.

Liverpool triumphed 2-1 over Southampton, with Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott on target, while Newcastle earned a 3-1 win over Brentford, with Sandro Tonali scoring twice.

While these clubs are focused on lifting the Carabao Cup trophy, they will also receive £25,000 for reaching the semi-finals.

This amount is part of the English Football League's prize structure, which is much smaller compared to European competitions like the UEFA Champions League.

For example, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Newcastle will receive £25,000, the same amount given to quarter-finalists, with the winner receiving £100,000.

A £25,000 prize is a small amount for Premier League clubs; in fact, it wouldn't even cover a single day of Mohamed Salah's £350,000-a-week wages.

The draw for the semi-finals will take place after Thursday's match between Tottenham and Manchester United.

The winners of this clash will join Arsenal, Liverpool, and Newcastle in the final four.
