Bishop David Oyedepo, General Overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, delivered an insightful message on "Understanding How to Facilitate the Fulfillment of Prophecies" during the Midweek Communion Service.
He highlighted the vital role the Holy Spirit plays in guiding believers and facilitating the fulfillment of prophecies in their lives.
Drawing from Scripture, Bishop Oyedepo explained that the Holy Spirit is not limited by the written word of the Bible, but can reveal specific, personal instructions to believers.
He used the example, "Arise, get down to Lagos," to illustrate how the Holy Spirit can give direct guidance, even to locations or actions not explicitly mentioned in the Bible. "There is no Lagos in the Bible, but the Holy Spirit said, 'Arise, Get Down to Lagos," he said.
Referring to John 16:12-13, the Bishop emphasized the Holy Spirit's role as the "Spirit of truth," who reveals things to come and guides believers into all truth.
He encouraged the congregation to develop a deep relationship with the Holy Spirit, noting that He is the custodian of God's plan for His people, revealing God's specific purposes and prosperity plans for individuals.
Bishop Oyedepo also stressed that prophecies from Scripture are made alive through the Holy Spirit, who opens believers' understanding to grasp God's word more clearly. He further encouraged the church to stay in tune with the Spirit, explaining that the Holy Spirit not only illuminates biblical teachings but also provides divine direction for everyday life.
In closing, he assured believers that as they align with the Holy Spirit's guidance, they will experience fulfillment in their lives, with distinct steps and no misdirection. "The year shall be very awesome for you. You will be distinct in your steps and will not miss your way," he declared.
