Yisrael Ganz, Governor of Binyamin and Chairman of the Yesha Council, addressed the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinian-backed militant groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and the Islamic Resistance of Iraq. He emphasized the need to defeat Iran's network of proxies and target what he referred to as "the head of the snake" to bring lasting peace.
Speaking to The Jerusalem Post, Ganz noted the heavy toll the war has taken, with 53 soldiers from Binyamin killed. Reflecting on the broader conflict, he said, "Iran has spent years building its proxies-Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Jihad-within the heart of Israel. That bridge has now collapsed. We must dismantle this axis of terror and confront its source." He also recalled Israel's withdrawal from Gaza two decades ago, stating that the hope for peace from that move had instead led to events like the October 7, 2023, attack.
Ganz expressed confidence in Israel's ability to prevail, crediting the resilience of Israeli citizens and the bravery of its soldiers.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu highlighted recent achievements, claiming that Israel is reshaping the Middle East. He cited the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in Lebanon, the collapse of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria, and the elimination of key leaders involved in the October 7 attack as evidence of Israel's strategic progress in the region.
