Experts have invented a real-life RoboCop which is unbreakable and can chase criminals at 21mph.
The AI-powered spherical robots have been spotted alongside human cops on the streets of China.
Footage shows one of the RT-G "bobby balls" rolling around on patrol.
The spheres have been designed by Chinese firm Logon Technology (corr) to assist - and eventually replace - humans in dangerous environments.
They can operate both on land and in water, withstand four tonnes of impact damage and be equipped with net guns, tear gas sprayers, grenades, loudspeakers and sound wave dispersal devices.
The bots use facial recognition software to identify and stop known criminals and can detect nearby disturbances or abnormalities.
A promo video shows them chasing after suspects, knocking them to the ground and firing a built-in net gun.
They are real-life versions of the main character in the hit 1987 sci-fi movie RoboCop in which a murdered officer is brought back to life as a cyborg.
China is also deploying police robo-dogs to combat crime.
Deep Robotics say their quadruped is "unstoppable" even in "extreme weather".
The attached wheels allow it to run down slopes and hop over obstacles.
