Super Falcons lose 2-1 to France in friendly

Nigeria's Super Falcons lost 2-1 against Les Bleues of France in a keenly contested friendly at the Stade Raymond Kopa, Angers.

France extended their winning run over Nigeria to four games following the hard-earned victory.

Laurent Bonadie's side had the ball in the net after seven minutes but Marie-Antoinette Katoto's effort was rightly ruled out for offside.

Eugenie Claudine Le Sommer however handed Les Bleues the lead just before the half hour mark.

It was 2-0 eight minutes later with Tunisia-born Amel Majri firing past goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie inside the box.

Nigeria reduced the deficit on the dot of 45 minutes courtesy of Ifeoma Onumonu's superb chip following a swift counter attacking move.

The goal was the Super Falcons first against the Europeans.

The scoreline remain the same with no goal recorded after the break.
