According to Euromaidan Press, in a significant development on the Ukrainian front, the Third Assault Brigade of Ukraine has successfully destroyed a North Korean Bulsae-4 missile system in Kharkiv Oblast.
The brigade's Windbreaker drone unit released video footage of the strike on November 30, showcasing a strategic blow to Russian-backed forces utilizing North Korean military equipment.
The Bulsae-4 missile system, developed by North Korea, boasts an estimated range of 10-25 kilometers and represents advanced anti-tank capabilities.
Its presence in Ukraine underscores a growing collaboration between Russia and North Korea in military supplies.
Since late 2023, Ukrainian forces have identified fragments of North Korean missiles in multiple regions, while satellite imagery has revealed consistent shipments of arms from North Korea to Russia via rail and sea.
"Our pilots bombed the enemy in the building and conducted combo strikes on camouflaged shelters, smoking out the occupiers from their hiding spots, the brigade reported on Telegram. The operation also led to the destruction of several Russian vehicles, including a Ural truck and a concealed Kamaz.
This marks another confirmation of North Korean weapons in Russian hands, first reported in July when the military publication Militarnyi documented the use of the Bulsae-4 by Russian forces.
Ukrainian intelligence has since corroborated broader support from North Korea, including ammunition and ballistic missiles.
The North Korean involvement extends beyond weapons. NATO has confirmed that approximately 11,000 North Korean troops are stationed in Russia's Kursk Oblast, with some units already engaged in combat.
Armed with standard infantry equipment such as rifles, mortars, and machine guns, these troops are reportedly playing an active role in supporting Russia's military efforts.
According to The Washington Post, this partnership is part of a deal between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin, where Pyongyang supplies military resources in exchange for financial compensation and access to advanced military technologies.
As the conflict in Ukraine continues, this development raises concerns about the deepening ties between Russia and North Korea and their implications for global security dynamics.
