Manchester United fans name man of the match in 3-2 win, with over 60 per cent

Manchester United got win number one under Ruben Amorim on Thursday night over Bodo/Glimt.

The new Portuguese head coach announced himself to the Old Trafford faithful under the lights during a five-goal thriller in the Europa League.

It was a night that was far more dramatic than Ruben Amorim would have wanted from his first home game. Rasmus Hojlund admitted this to TNT Sports after the game, saying that Manchester United needs to make games less entertaining.

United beat Bodo/Glimt 3-2, coming from behind to win thanks to Hojlund's second-half winner - which was his second of the night after an impressive first to equalise.

Alejandro Garnacho was the one to open the scoring, with his goal coming inside the first minute which was the second game running that United scored very early.

Who was Manchester United's man of the match vs Bodo?

Manchester United's win was exactly what Amorim needed after a disappointing draw to begin his reign as boss.

Now, on the official club website, fans have been voting for their man of the match against Bodo and there was one crystal clear winner.

After his two goals, Hojlund was always going to be a contender for the man of the match vote, but with over 60 per cent of the vote, it was dominant.

Hojlund also provided an assist for Garnacho, with his all-round performance looking very important.

Wednesday saw Amorim demand goals from his forwards, and Hojlund provided on Thursday by scoring a brace in the Europa League.

However, it was his assist for Garnacho's goal which would have really been encouraging to Amorim.

Hojlund's pressing created the goal-scoring situation which showed the Dane was listening to Amorim's fury against Ipswich.

United's striker admitted post-game that Amorim's system suits him, and we expect this will be only the beginning for Hojlund.
