Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti has named Liverpool as Real Madrid's 'most difficult' opponent in the Champions League.
Ancelotti said this after Liverpool's UEFA Champions League 2-0 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night.
The Italian watched as two goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo gave Liverpool the victory over Madrid.
The likes of Kylian Mbappe and Mohamed Salah missed penalties during the encounter.
"It was a difficult match, as we knew, it was the most difficult stadium in Europe," Ancelotti told Movistar.
"We competed well until the penalty, but then we dropped a bit in level, we could have made more of the counter-attacks.
"I liked the team, we competed well against the most difficult rival in Europe and they deserved to win."
