Lewandowski joins GOATs Ronaldo and Messi in exclusive list as third player to score 100 goals in UCL history

Robert Lewandowski has joined Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the exclusive Champions League list.

Robert Lewandowski has etched his name into football history by becoming the third player ever to score 100 goals in the UEFA Champions League, UCL, joining legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in this exclusive club.

The Polish striker achieved this remarkable milestone during Barcelona's commanding 3-0 victory over Stade Brestois on Tuesday night.

Lewandowski reached the century mark with a penalty in the 10th minute of the match after being fouled by Brest goalkeeper Marco Bizot.

The goal not only gave Barcelona an early lead but also marked an important achievement for Lewandowski, who has now scored 100 goals in just 125 appearances in the competition.

Robert Lewandowski-inspired Barcelona were too hot for Brest to handle.

He is now behind only the legendary duo of Ronaldo, who has 141 goals, and Barcelona legend Messi, who has 129.

The match was a showcase of Barcelona's dominance, as they controlled possession and restricted Brest to limited chances.

Dani Olmo added to the scoreline with his first UCL goal for Barcelona, expertly finishing past Bizot to make it 2-0. Lewandowski later sealed the win with another goal in stoppage time, further solidifying his status as one of the game's greats.

After the match, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick praised Lewandowski's achievement and the team's overall performance.

Lewandowski joins Messi and Ronaldo as the only players to score 100 or more goals in the Champions League.

"He's the third after [Lionel] Messi and Cristiano [Ronaldo] to reach 100 goals in the Champions League. I know him too from Bayern and he was breaking every record there too. I will say that the whole team helps him to score these goals."

Lewandowski expressed his joy at reaching this milestone: "I'm very content, very happy; sometimes I didn't believe I would reach this impressive figure in the Champions League."

"Now I'm in good company with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo," the former Bayern Munich striker added. His words reflect both humility and pride as he joins two of football's most iconic figures.

This season has been particularly fruitful for Lewandowski, who now has seven goals in five Champions League matches and leads La Liga with 15 goals from 14 appearances this season.

A proud Hansi Flick says Barcelona helped Lewandowski achieve the feat..

His consistent scoring ability continues to be a vital asset for Barcelona under new manager Flick as they aim for success in both domestic and European competitions.

Meanwhile, with this victory, Barcelona climbed to second place in the Champions League table, just a point behind leaders Italian champions Inter Milan, who are yet to concede a goal this season in the Champions League.
