A Nigerian lady has shared her disturbing experience on social media, recounting how a male friend who attempted to rape her, despite police efforts to arrest him, assaulted her again at a club after she confronted him.
In a detailed statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), she revealed that in September, the man tried to rape her, and since then, she has been working with the police to bring him to justice.
She wrote,
"So in September, a male friend attempted to rape me, and I've been working with the police to get a hold of him since then."
However, despite police efforts, she continued to encounter him at various clubs. "Bear in mind that I still see this person in clubs, and when he sees me, he'd look me in the eye and throw money in my direction without any shame or remorse," she explained.
On one such occasion, she and a friend saw him at a club, and she decided to confront him.
"Last night, I saw him again, and he was looking me dead in the eye without remorse. After the party, my friends and I went to our usual late-night spot."
"I felt bad about the entire situation and burst into tears. Just then, the guy walked in with his friends. In the heat of the moment, I walked up to him and told him that I hadn't forgotten what he did and that we still had to sort it out."
She continued,
"My friends confronted him, and an argument started between us and his friends. All this time, he sat on a chair, laughing and not denying any of the allegations because he knew what he had done."
Things escalated quickly.
"Long story short, his friend, who was also involved in the attempted rape, punched me until I passed out, and blood came from my mouth and body. After I was revived by the restaurant staff, I realized that they had beaten my friend as well and torn her clothes. They claimed to have political backing and said I couldn't do anything about it. They might escape the police, but at least I'll tell my story here and try my best to get justice."
She shared evidence of her injuries, urging people to help spread her story.
"These are some clips showing what was done to me. Please help me get this out there and post their pictures as well."
She ended with a heartfelt plea:
"Excuse my typos, my hands are literally shaking. I'm sure there are many other cases like this that have been swept under the carpet because of how he parades himself as influential."
