During Iranian missile attack, projectiles flew by dozens of civilian aircraft: Report

The attack, which saw Iranian projectiles launched toward Israel, created a tense and alarming scenario for both pilots and passengers aboard these flights.

The Wall Street Journal reported that many of the aircraft were flying along similar flight paths to the missiles as they ascended, with some passengers and crew members able to witness the missiles streaking through the sky. While ballistic missiles typically travel at much higher altitudes than commercial airliners, they still present a significant danger during both their ascent and descent phases, particularly in areas near or over hostile territory.

The report highlights a serious lapse in communication and safety protocols, noting that Iran did not issue any warning for civilian flights to avoid the area during the missile attack. As the missiles were launched, air traffic control and airline crews scrambled to ensure the safety of their flights.
