A Nigerian lady recently shared a distressing experience after losing her neighbor's child at a market.
She recounted the incident in a post on her page on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In the post, she explained that she and a friend had taken their neighbor's child to the market. While they were there, she suddenly noticed the child was missing, even though she had been holding her hand. Panic set in as they searched frantically.
After a while, they eventually found the child. However, to their shock, the child claimed she didn't know them.
The situation was so alarming that they had to call the child's mother for help.
In her words: "My friend and I lost my neighbor's child at the market. We were holding her, but at some point, I turned around, and she was gone. We almost went mad looking for her. When we finally saw her, she said she didn't know us. We had to call her mom. That will be the last time I ever take someone else's child out."
Following the experience, she vowed never to take anyone's child to the market or any other place again.
As the post gained attention online, concerned individuals flooded the comment section to share their reactions.
