Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD) recently offered a poignant reflection on the importance of daughters in families.
Challenging traditional African preferences for male children, RMD asserted that having a daughter surpasses the value of having three sons.
Drawing from personal experience, RMD recounted how his sisters selflessly cared for their ailing father, while their brothers didn't similarly sacrifice.
RMD emphasized that men who lament having only daughters fail to recognize their blessings.
He argued that daughters bring numerous benefits, including potential longevity, reduced worry, and increased compliance.
RMD highlighted daughters' unique ability to maintain emotional connections with parents, often welcoming them into their homes in old age.
He urged fathers of daughters to appreciate these blessings and relinquish complaints.
In his words;
"When my father was ill, my sister left her job to stay with him. My other sister left her business to work shifts with her, None of us boys left our business or work.
"Yet you foolishly complain that you have only girls? you have hit a jackpot.
"Each of your daughters is worth 3 sons! Having a daughter prolongs your life. She will not get into as much trouble as your sons.
"She is less likely to be disobedient. When she leaves your house, she will remember you. If you are too old to leave alone, she will move you into her home, matrimonial or not. Go and thank God for having daughters!"
In another story, RMD breaks silence on shunning viral overzealous fan who hailed him during link up.
In a video, which rapidly circulated on various social media platforms, RMD was captured subtly chiding the fan who eagerly approached him for a video.
The fan appeared genuinely excited to meet the veteran actor, enthusiastically sharing the encounter with people around. However, RMD's response was less accommodating, as he instructed the fan to take photos instead and cease his exuberant commentary while walking away.
Nonetheless, taking to his Instagram page, RMD who seems unfazed by the criticism posted the video.
He added that the video's audio could serve as a suitable sound for TikTok videos.
