A situation has arisen following the arrest of Baltasar Engonga, the former Director-General of the National Financial Investigation Agency in Equatorial Guinea, who was detained earlier this week for allegedly recording over 400 sex tapes involving the wives of prominent figures in the country. Engonga is currently being held at Malabo's notorious Black Beach Prison while investigations into the matter continue.
Nigerian politician, author, playwright, and human rights activist, Shehu Sani, added a new layer to the discourse with a tweet on his official X handle (formerly Twitter). In his post, Sani commented humorously but pointedly, "If 'to say' the Equatorial Guinea guy has a Nigerian father or mother, Only God would have saved us from the South African blogs and social media handles. Nigerian men can even be attacked."
