Elon Musk's estranged daughter plans to leave US following Trump's victory

Elon Musk's estranged daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, has announced her decision to leave the United States in the wake of President-elect Donald Trump's historic re-election victory.

In her statement, Wilson expressed her concerns about the political climate and the direction the country is heading under Trump's leadership.

She emphasized her desire to seek a more favorable environment elsewhere, reflecting a growing sentiment among some individuals regarding the implications of Trump's policies and governance.

The 20-year-old, who severed ties with her billionaire father in 2022, has been vocal about her disapproval of Trump's policies, especially those impacting the LGBTQ+ community.

Wilson first distanced herself from Musk by legally changing her name and gender, aiming to sever any connection with her biological father.

Now, she says Trump's return to office has solidified her decision to cut ties with the country as well.

"I've thought this for a while, but yesterday confirmed it for me. I don't see my future being in the United States," Wilson wrote on Threads on Wednesday, as reported by New York Times.

She added, "Even if he's only in office for 4 years, even if the anti-trans regulations magically don't happen, the people who willingly voted this in are not going anywhere anytime soon."

Wilson is one of six children Musk shares with his first wife, Justine Wilson.

She has previously accused her father of being an absent parent who was unsupportive of her transition.

Musk, in turn, has attributed their estrangement to "neo-Marxist" influences at elite private schools and universities, which he claims have caused ideological divides within his family.

In conversations with biographer Walter Isaacson, Elon Musk pointed to the Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences in Santa Monica, describing it as a place that "infected" his daughter with what he calls the "woke mind virus."

"She went beyond socialism to being a full communist and thinking that anyone rich is evil," Musk reportedly told Isaacson.

He also noted that the estrangement with Wilson has been a source of deep pain, saying it affected him more than the death of his first child, Nevada.

Musk, a vocal supporter of Trump, remains one of the wealthiest individuals in the world, with a net worth estimated at $285.6 billion
