Departing Sporting CP manager, Ruben Amorim, has suggested why his team defeated Manchester City 4-1 in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
Viktor Gyokeres hat-trick's gave Sporting the victory over Pep Guardiola's side.
Erling Haaland did missed a late penalty with the scores at 3-1 during the encounter.
Reacting, Amorim, who is set to join Manchester City's Premier League rivals Manchester United, said the environment and everything helped Sporting to beat Gaurdiola's side.
"It was written," Amorim said after the game.
"The first half was very tough. We were very lucky. In the second half we scored twice in the first minutes. The environment, everything helped us.
"It was an amazing night, a good moment. We all deserve it here. We started so low four years ago, an amazing day."
