Man Utd fans call out Joshua Zirkzee for 'shameless' social media post after Chelsea cameo

Manchester United fans have called out Joshua Zirkzee for his social media post following his cameo against Chelsea.

Man United were held to a 1-1 draw by Chelsea in Ruud van Nistelrooy's second game in charge following Erik ten Hag's sacking.

Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty in the 70th minute to open the scoring, with Moises Caicedo levelling proceedings just four minutes later.

Van Nistelrooy made changes to impact the game, bringing on Zirkzee for Rasmus Hojlund in the 84th minute.

Zirkzee, who hasn't scored for Man United since his opening day strike against Fulham, had an opportunity as soon as he entered the fray.

He was put through on goal but was unable to do anything from the chance.

His lack of pace let him down as he failed to get past Wesley Fofana.

After the game, Zirkzee shared a picture of himself running through on goal on social media even though nothing came from the opportunity.

Man United fans online slammed Zirkzee for the 'shameless' post.

One X user wrote: "No way Zirkzee actually had the audacity to post this. What a shameless breed."

A second joked: "Bro thinks he runs faster we have seen the game brother."

A third added: "This guy got no shame."

Zirkzee joined Man United from Bologna for £36.5 million during the summer transfer window.

He has scored just one goal in 14 games across all competitions so far this season.

The Red Devils, meanwhile, remain in the bottom half of the league table, occupying 13th place.

Van Nistelrooy will oversee two more Man United matches before Ruben Amorim officially takes charge of the club.

Speaking after the game, the interim boss said: "Overall it was a very good performance. The players did really well and fought in every inch of the pitch. It was very good to watch that bit.

"The chances we created, we could have scored one more to win the game. It was a shame we couldn't. Overall, I'm slightly disappointed we didn't win."
