Messi left Barcelona in the summer of 2021 but remains affectionate towards the team.
In Barca's Instagram post celebrating the big win against their bitter rivals, Messi commented, "What a beautiful victory!"
Hansi Flick's men are six points ahead of Los Blancos following the victory.
