Roberto Mancini has been sacked by the Saudi Arabia national team after just one year with the team.
The 59-year-old signed a four-year contract for £77 million when he was hired as the head coach in August 2023.
The Italian manager led the Saudi Arabian team to the 2022 World Cup and defeated Argentina in their first match.
However, despite being the highest-paid boss in world football, the former City manager has endured a difficult time with the team.
Mancini sacked
According to the Sun, Mancini has been sacked from his position as the head coach of the Saudi Arabian team.
In 18 games during his 14-month tenure as manager, the Italian only achieved seven victories, enduring five draws and six losses against the national team.
According to Italian reports, his connection with the players has also soured in recent months, and Saudi Arabia's third-place World Cup qualification group has angered the supporters.
Following his team's 0-0 draw with Bahrain earlier this month, the former Manchester City manager was spotted clashing with a group of fans.
Saudi Arabia FA are currently in search of a new head coach as they look to qualify for the FIFA World Cup.
