A viral video circulating on social media shows a group of workers employed in the Ministry of Women Affairs celebrating on Wednesday evening following the announcement of Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye's dismissal as minister under President Bola Tinubu's cabinet.
The footage captures the jubilant reactions of the employees, indicating a collective sense of relief or satisfaction regarding the leadership change.
This celebration raises questions about the internal dynamics within the ministry and reflects the sentiments of the staff toward Kennedy-Ohanenye's tenure.
In the video shared on X by Abubakar Sidiq Usman, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the workers could be seen dancing and shouting in the corridors of their office.
Chants of "finally" could be heard as they celebrated the minister's exit.
Kennedy-Ohanenye was overseeing the ministry until President Tinubu removed her on Wednesday as part of a cabinet reshuffle.
She was among five ministers who were sacked during the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.
Others are Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism; Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development; Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education; and Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development.
