'A crazy situation' - Ejuke recounts horrible experience with Super Eagles in Libya

Chidera Ejuke has shared an account of what he experienced during the Super Eagles airport ordeal in Libya.

Ejuke and his Super Eagles teammates were held hostage at the Al Abaq Airport in Libya early this week.

The contingent were stranded at the airport for several hours with no food and water

The players and officials were later allowed to travel back to Nigeria declining to honour the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie against the Mediterranean Knights.

"It was a crazy situation that we did not expect. We could not do anything, we were locked in the airport," he told Dario de Sevilla.

"We were locked in for about 16 hours. Yes, it was a long time. Without food, we brought some water when we came from Nigeria and some snacks from the flight.

"We were a little scared, but we all stood together so that we wouldn't go crazy"
