Former Manchester City defender, Benjamin Mendy has revealed that former teammates, Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, and Riyad Mahrez helped him to pay legal fees and child support after being charged with rape.
Mendy was charged with committing sexual offenses in 2023 after he was arrested in 2020.
He was eventually acquitted of all charges related to two counts of rape and one of attempted rape.
The Frenchman was then released by Man City at the end of the 2022-23 season following the expiry of his contract.
However, the Lorient left-back has now admitted that he had to rely on his teammates to pay his bills.
"I struggled to pay my child support, I felt awful.
"Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, and Riyad Mahrez all lent me money to help me try and pay my legal fees and support my family," Mendy said via NDTV.
