We sent a message long ago, Wike should go and ask Jonathan what happened to him-Robinson Ewoh

In a recent video broadcast on Symfoni TV, Robinson Ewoh, a prominent figure within the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has made startling claims about the circumstances surrounding Governor Nyesom Wike's rise to power in Rivers State.

Ewoh alleged that former President Goodluck Jonathan played a pivotal role in securing Wike's 2015 gubernatorial victory through questionable means. "Jonathan deployed the police, the army, and the resident electoral commissioner to make Wike governor," Ewoh stated, suggesting a coordinated effort to manipulate the election results.

However, Ewoh pointed out that this political alliance has since deteriorated. "Jonathan and Wike no longer have a relationship; Wike doesn't even greet Jonathan or his wife," he claimed, highlighting the apparent breakdown in their once-close association.

The PDP chieftain drew a parallel between Jonathan's fate and Wike's current position, stating, "We sent a message long ago, Wike should go and ask Jonathan what happened to him. At the end of the day, Jonathan lost his presidency."

Ewoh's comments also touched on the nature of political power and those who align themselves with it. "If tomorrow Wike becomes the next big name, people will still follow him, but it's all temporary," he observed, suggesting that support for Wike is largely opportunistic.

In a particularly pointed remark, Ewoh characterized Wike's motivations, saying, "Wike is only there for power as long as he can hold on to it." This statement implies that Wike's political ambitions are primarily self-serving and not driven by a genuine desire to serve the people of Rivers State.

These allegations from a high-ranking member of Wike's own party raise significant questions about the nature of political alliances and the integrity of past elections in Rivers State. They also suggest potential rifts within the PDP and could have far-reaching implications for the political landscape in Rivers State and beyond.
