The Nigerian Senate has called for an apology from the government of Libya over ordeal experienced by the Super Eagles team on Sunday, October 13, through Monday, October 14.
Condemning the ill-treatment meted to the football team by the Libyan authorities, the Senate committee on Sports said such act was not in line with sports best practices.

In his reaction, the deputy senate president, Barau Jibrin sports is one tools that has promoted unity and brotherhood among tribes and nations.
Jibrin said while the treatment is condemnable, they would not want a diplomatic row with Libya.
He said, "So, we call on the ambassador and whoever is concerned and the authorities to come out and apologise for what they have done to our national team."
In addition, the Senate President in a statement issued by his media aide, Eseme Eyiboh demanded a thorough investigation from the Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) into the matter.
Akpabio also called for appropriate sanctions to be meted out against those involved.
"It is also imperative that the Libyan authorities take immediate action to investigate this incident and ensure that those responsible are held accountable to prevent future occurrences," Akpabio said.
