Turkish giants, Galatasaray, are reportedly considering activating the €81 million buyout clause in Victor Osimhen's loan agreement with Napoli.
As per Soccernet, the 25-year-old's future in European football is once again the centre of attention.
The 25-year-old Nigerian striker, who joined Galatasaray on loan until the end of the season, has quickly made his mark, scoring two goals and providing four assists in his first four matches.
According to reports from Corriere dello Sport and Fichajes, Galatasaray are seriously weighing the option to make Osimhen's stay permanent as early as January.
The deal, if executed, would see Napoli pocket a substantial transfer fee.
However, the Turkish side may not have an easy path.
Premier League club Chelsea remains keenly interested in the prolific forward.
Chelsea had initially pursued Osimhen during the summer transfer window, and they are expected to renew their efforts to bring the striker to Stamford Bridge in January.
The London club could potentially trigger the same €81 million release clause or wait until June, when the fee is expected to drop to around €75 million.
Galatasaray's vice president has publicly stated that the club has no immediate plans to part ways with Osimhen in January.
Nevertheless, with growing interest from Chelsea and other European powerhouses, the Turkish club may be inclined to secure Osimhen on a permanent basis to fend off competition.
