Senior officials from Manchester United failed to reach a final decision on Erik ten Hag's future during a meeting on Tuesday, The UK Guardian reports.
Co-owners Sir Jim Ratcliffe led the discussion at the INEOS headquarters.
Also in attendance were new chief executive Omar Berrada, Dan Ashworth, who recently joined as sporting director, and technical director Jason Wilcox.
The meeting comes two days after United's 0-0 draw at Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.
The result left United without a win in five matches in all competitions, heaping more pressure on Ten Hag.
However, the meeting did not result in any major decisions being made. But they could still opt to part ways with the Dutchman in the coming days amid United's worst ever start to a Premier League campaign.
