The world football governing body, FIFA, has taken to social media to celebrate Nigerian star Asisat Oshoala.
The FIFA women's World Cup account shared a video of a picture of Oshoala fondly called Agba baller in the background on their official X account, captioning it "O S H O A L A."
Oshoala's stellar career
Oshoala was a key member of the Super Falcons team that won the 2014 African Women's Championship. She was crowned the African Women's Footballer of the Year for the first time that same year.
Oshoala also made history as the first African player to win the UEFA Women's Champions League, achieving this feat three times with Barcelona in 2021, 2023, and 2024.
The renowned "Agba Baller" has been recognised for her outstanding achievements on the continent, winning the Best Women's Player in Africa award six times in her career.
The record-breaking accomplishment solidifies her status as one of the greatest African footballers of all time.
Oshoala's impressive performance since joining Bay FC
Oshoala joined Bay FC on February 1, 2024, and since then has been impressive; she scored on her NWSL debut in a 1-0 victory over Angel City.
The Nigerian forward has recorded over five goals for Bay FC since she moved to the United States from Barcelona in Spain.
Oshoala was on target for Bay FC as they suffered a 1-5 loss to Gotham in an NWSL fixture early on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
