Georgina Rodriguez shares Instagram snap of Cristiano Ronaldo Jr wearing Manchester United star's shirt

Cristiano Ronaldo may have left Manchester United in controversial circumstances, but the club clearly remains dear to his family.

The Portuguese icon's second spell with the Red Devils came to an acrimonious end in 2022, as he departed Old Trafford following a public falling out with manager Erik ten Hag.

Cristiano Ronaldo's career path has clearly worn off on his son

Despite this however, Ronaldo has since maintained that he still loves the club he first joined as an 18-year-old in 2003.

And this feeling has clearly passed from father to son, as his oldest child, Cristiano Jr, was pictured wearing a Man United shirt in a recent social media post by his partner Georgina Rodriguez.

In a photo shared on Rodriguez's Instagram story, the 14-year-old can be seen donning United's navy blue away jersey as he completes his homework at the dining table.

He also drops a huge hint as to who his favourite Red Devils star may be, as he bears Alejandro Garnacho's name and number on the back of his top.

Coincidentally, the Argentine winger has long been open about his admiration of Ronaldo Jr's father.

The pair teammates were at Old Trafford when Garnacho made his United debut, and he celebrated his first ever goal for the club alongside Ronaldo by copying one of his celebrations.

He has since continued to mark goals with tributes to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, recreating his iconic 'Siu' celebration after an incredible overhead kick effort against Everton in November 2023.

He also revealed on several occasions that the Portugal captain is his footballing idol.

After netting his first goal against Real Sociedad in the Europa League whilst still a teenager, he paid tribute to Ronaldo, who assisted his maiden strike.

He wrote on X: "18 years and 125 days dreaming of this moment. Thanks idol, Cristiano."

Ronaldo Jr is a fan of one of his dad's former teammates

Meanwhile, Garnacho has always made his admiration for Ronaldo Sr known

In fact, Garnacho's openness in his love for the footballing icon is such that it has landed him in hot water with his international teammates.

In 2023, his international colleague Leandro Paredes revealed that the 20-year-old had been mercilessly teased for appearing to favour Ronaldo over his Argentina captain Lionel Messi.

He said: "We joked about it with him. He is very shy and does not answer.

"Poor guy, we drove him crazy. We also talked to him about what the group is, somehow we try to make them feel part of it and feel comfortable.

"Although in this case he got very nervous and couldn't talk. But as he said, I think he is his idol, he always followed him a lot and he plays quite similar.

"So it's normal, nothing happens. Obviously, when he comes to the national team he has to change a little bit."

But while Garnacho may have had to hide his allegiances whilst on international duty, Ronaldo Jr will have no issue with idolising the United winger, especially given his personal aspirations.

Despite having huge footsteps to follow, the 14-year-old has shown himself to be a talented footballer in his own right.

Ronaldo Jr's youth career has mirrored his father's

Cristiano Jr currently plays for Al Nassr's under-15s side where he's being playing since his dad's move to Saudi Arabia almost two years ago.

He has also previously represented Real Madrid, Juventus and Man United's youth sides.

And with the youngster a promising winger, much like Garnacho and his father in his earlier career, it is no surprise that United's talented wide man has caught his eye.
