Akwa Ibom Gov appoints daughter as Acting First Lady

The governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno recently reacted to the naming of his daughter as the acting first lady of the state. This came after the passing of his wife and the first lady of the state, Mrs Patience Umo Eno. In his statements which drew widespread attention from the general public, he pointed out that he called his wife Oluwa-Kemi because she was truly a gift to him.

As the people of Akwa Ibom State recovered from the loss of it's first lady, Mrs Patience Umo Eno they demanded for a replacement to occupy the vacant seat left behind by her sad demise. In light of this, the governor of the state, Umo Eno has named his daughter, Helen Eno Obareki as the acting first lady of the state.

In his statements which were made available to the general public by leading news outlet, VANGUARD today being Saturday the 5th day of October 2024, he pointed out that her demise is an irreplaceable loss but however, to maintain her legacy and good works, his daughter, Helen Eno will take over the office of the first lady.

'In his words'

"I married her when she was 19, and I was 22. I called her Oluwa-Kemi because she was truly a gift from God, a source of comfort and succor. We went through many challenges together, and we shared in both victories and losses. Her passing is an irreplaceable loss for me. She was my embodiment of the biblical virtuous woman, my greatest supporter, and also my toughest critic. Her absence will be felt for the rest of my life."

"It is not an easy task ahead. But to maintain the Office of the First Lady and carry forward my late wife's work, I present our daughter, Helen, to continue the duties of the office." He said.

The actions of the governor however resonates with many as many believe his daughter will be able to fill the vacuum created by the demise of the first lady.
