Top 10 African countries with the lowest temporary US visa rejection rate

While many applicants face hurdles when applying for a temporary U.S. visa, certain countries enjoy notably low rejection rates.

In an earlier article, Business Insider Africa explained that securing a visa, whether for tourism, business, study, or work, can be a challenging process, often depending on a variety of factors, from economic conditions to diplomatic relationships.

Mali holds the highest U.S. visa rejection rate at 60.16%, according to data from Statisense, sourced from the U.S. Department of State. Following closely is Gambia, with a rejection rate of 60.40%, and Guinea comes in third at 61.37%.

However, for citizens of specific countries, this process tends to be much easier, with higher approval rates and fewer complications.

Countries with the lowest temporary U.S. visa rejection rates share key attributes that contribute to their success: stable economies, positive diplomatic ties with the U.S., and strong adherence to visa regulations.

Citizens from these countries are perceived as less likely to overstay their visas or violate U.S. immigration laws, making them low-risk candidates in the eyes of American consular officials.

Seychelles boasts the lowest U.S. visa rejection rate, standing at 4.55%, according to data from the U.S. Department of State. Close behind is Mauritius, with a rejection rate of 6.90%, while Eswatini ranks third at 7.84%.
